Our Next Date
Date: 25th April 2026
Time: 10am - 5pm
Location: Masson Lees Quarry, Matlock, DE4 2PA

We’re organising another volunteering day at Masson Lees Quarry, this time on Saturday 25th April. We’ve really appreciated all the help so far and would love to see even more of you there.

The focus of this session will be route clearance work on several of the crag’s popular lines. This will involve abseiling down marked routes and removing loose rock using tools of your choice. Please note that a confident level of rope skills is required to take part in this activity.

We will meet at the top level of the quarry at 10am on 25th April, where we’ll run through a safety briefing, and assign routes accordingly. Snacks and drinks will be provided, but please bring your own lunch — it’s going to be a physical day!

If you enjoy being outdoors and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, we’d really value your help.
Please bring:
-
Gloves
-
Sturdy footwear
-
Your own tools (spades, trowels, pitchforks, crowbar) — we’ll have some available to borrow
-
Harness
-
Helmet
-
Ropes
-
Abseil device (e.g. ATC/Grigri & prusik)

Unfortunately, we do not have enough kit to be able to lend out abseiling equipment, we will have some spades and tools but please also bring your own if you have them.

Please complete the form below to register for the day, or get in touch if you have any questions.
Thank you for your continued support of the land — we hope to see you there.
