Help us protect this stunning natural space by helping out at Masson Lees Quarry during our maintenance days. It's a great chance for the community to participate in clearing overgrowth, planting trees and completing other vital maintenance activities. Together, we can keep this area welcoming and flourishing for everyone to enjoy. Your involvement truly makes a difference!

We’re organising another volunteer maintenance day at Masson Lees Quarry and would love your help caring for and improving the site.
The day will focus on:

Clearing vegetation and overgrowth
-
Laying additional steps into the quarry
-
Standing up and securing trees that have fallen or become leaning
-
Litter picking around the quarry and surrounding land
-
Carrying out other general maintenance tasks
We’ll meet at the top level of the quarry, where we’ll begin with a safety briefing and divide everyone into groups. There will be a range of jobs available, so you don’t need any specialist skills or previous experience to take part.
Snacks and drinks will be provided, but please bring your own lunch. The work may be physically demanding and muddy, so please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear.
Please bring:

Any useful tools you have, such as spades, trowels, loppers, secateurs, pitchforks or crowbars

Your own lunch and water bottle
We’ll have a limited selection of tools available to borrow, so please bring your own if possible. Please only undertake tasks that you feel comfortable doing, if you wish to switch jobs at any point just ask Nick or Sam.
